This Statement of Faith reflects what we hold dear—rooted in Scripture, shaped by our walk with Jesus, and guiding our mission in Honduras. Our beliefs are not just theological ideas; they are the foundation for how we love others, serve our community, and proclaim the Gospel.
We believe the Holy Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, inerrant and infallible in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme authority for faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21)
God the Father: We believe God the Father is the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, holy and just, yet full of mercy and grace. He sent His Son into the world for our redemption and desires a relationship with His children. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 103:19; John 3:16; Ephesians 4:6)
God the Son – Jesus Christ: We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He became man without ceasing to be God, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sin, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended to the right hand of the Father. He will return personally and visibly in glory. (John 1:1–2, 14; Philippians 2:5–11; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:11)
God the Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates the sinner, and indwells every believer. He empowers and guides believers in spiritual growth, service, and witness. (John 14:16–17; Romans 8:9; Galatians 5:22–23; Acts 1:8)
We believe that God created the heavens and the earth in six literal days and declared all creation good. God created mankind in His image—distinct from animals—with the purpose of glorifying and enjoying Him. Adam and Eve, created directly by God, fell into sin through disobedience. As a result, all people inherit a sin nature, are spiritually dead apart from Christ, and are utterly unable to redeem themselves. (Genesis 1–3; Romans 5:12; Psalm 51:5; Ephesians 2:1–3)
We believe that salvation is a free gift of God, offered to all by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is not earned by works or religious rituals but is received through repentance and trust in Christ’s finished work.
We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. Eternal life is the present and permanent possession of every believer. (Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9–10; John 6:37–40, 10:27–30; Romans 8:1, 38–39; 1 Corinthians 1:4–8; 1 Peter 1:4–5; Jude 1–2)
We believe in the reality of Satan as a created angelic being who rebelled against God. He is the enemy of God and His people—deceptive, destructive, and actively working to oppose God’s plan. Alongside the fallen angels, he wages spiritual warfare against the purposes of God and the souls of men. Though his power is supernatural, it is limited by God’s sovereign control. Satan cannot act without God's permission and will ultimately be cast into the Lake of Fire for eternal torment. (Genesis 3:1–5; Isaiah 14:12–17; Ezekiel 28:11–19; Job 1:6–12; John 13:2; Acts 5:3; Ephesians 6:11–12; Revelation 20:10)
We believe in the local, visible New Testament church—a body of believers, called out and assembled to carry out the Great Commission. Each local congregation is autonomous under the authority of Christ and committed to biblical preaching, worship, fellowship, discipleship, and service. (Acts 2:41–47; Matthew 28:19–20; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27)
We believe that Jesus Christ gave the church two ordinances: baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
- Baptism is the public testimony of a believer’s personal faith in Christ, symbolizing death to sin and new life in Him.
- The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s death and a reminder of His promised return.
Neither ordinance is a means of salvation but should be joyfully practiced by true believers in obedience to Christ. Baptism is to be administered after a person has trusted in Jesus Christ by faith. The water doesn’t save—Jesus does. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36–38; Romans 6:3–5; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26)
We believe that Christians are called to live holy lives, set apart from the sinful patterns of this world. Believers are to walk in obedience to God's Word, bear the fruit of the Spirit, and pursue purity, humility, and integrity in every area of life. Our lives should reflect the character of Christ and serve as a light to a dark and lost world. (Romans 12:1–2; 2 Corinthians 6:17; 1 Peter 1:15–16; Galatians 5:22–25; Ephesians 5:8–11; Matthew 5:14–16)
We believe in the Blessed Hope; of our Lord’s return—that it is literal, personal, visible, imminent, premillennial, and pretribulational. We believe that Christ will rapture His church prior to the seven years of tribulation. At the end of the tribulation, Jesus will return with His saints to establish His thousand-year reign on earth. (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 3:10; Zechariah 14:4–11; Revelation 19:11–16; Revelation 20:1–6; Psalm 89:3–4)
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost. The saved will spend eternity in the presence of God, and the lost will face eternal separation from God in a literal hell. (John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:11–15)
